Growing Together: Western Union Elementary 12/13/25
40 Volunteers. 20 Trees. 

The morning of December 13th was a bit nippy, but that didn’t stop our amazing community from showing up with shovels and smiles! We had an incredible turnout of 40 volunteers--including parents, students, and staff-- who spent their Saturday morning making Western Union Elementary a little greener and a lot shadier.

Together, we planted 20 beautiful new trees all around the playground. While they might look like "little sticks" now, they’ll soon grow into a massive natural canopy that will keep our kids cool during those hot North Carolina recesses for years to come.  Many thanks to the Western Union Elementary School PTO for partnering wtih us on this important project!
